Court Improvement Update - May 13, 2023

Updated: May 25, 2023

From Cliff Teixeira, President, Bristol Pickleball Club of RI.

Mike and I had a meeting yesterday with the Bristol Parks and Rec Director and Assistant Director. The latest news is that the vendor that will be making the court repairs and line painting has promised to start work after Memorial Day. We have been assured...(fingers crossed) that the new courts will be completed by the end of June. Weather has the final word as to when they can start. Temperatures need to be above 60degF for three consecutive days and nights for the work to start. Lets hope for an early summer because, "I don't know about you... but I can't wait to play on our new resurfaced dedicated pickleball courts!

Also in the works:

  1. Seats with backs are being repurposed for our use at the new entrance.

  2. One of our players, Hanson Grant, will be professionally making us a new court sign-up whiteboard with our club logo bonded to the surface.

  3. We have asked that a trash barrel be placed near the courts.

  4. We talked about the need to place a Port-a-potty nearby for the health of our players. They were very sympathetic to our request this time. Time will tell.

So that's the latest from Bristol. It looks to be an exciting summer indeed.

Also, today was the first day that we went live for anyone wanting to use Venmo and PayPal for your donations.

Thank you,

Mike Morrell
